Walter Payton nicknamed “Sweetness” was a bruising running back that made amazing plays, ripped off would be tacklers, and was a defensive coordinator’s nightmare. But Payton created a name for himself that is unsuspecting, “sweetness”, for the blow giving punisher that he was such a name was ill-fitting. Walter Payton would earn his name off the field for his charitable work in the community, how people perceived him, and for his personality.
